Location

Unterbilk is one of the oldest districts in Düsseldorf, the state capital. It combines the advantages of a quiet residential neighbourhood with proximity to the city centre.

This area is one of Düsseldorf’s most sought-after residential districts and is popular with people of all ages. Its mix of longtime residents and young families gives this area a special flair. Architecturally, it is among Düsseldorf’s most charming areas, featuring uninterrupted blocks of well preserved/restored 19th century town houses.

The city gate, a multi-award-winning skyscraper above the Rhine bank tunnel, and the media harbour with the famous Gehry buildings are the district’s newest landmarks.

From Unterbilk, a short walk takes you to the Rhine bank promenade, the Media Harbour, the old town or the Königsallee (or “Kö” for short) shopping boulevard. Unterbilk’s proximity to the old town, the city centre and the Rhine offers residents a wealth of opportunities.

The Rheinturm, WDR and K21 art museum are also within walking distance. Additional attractions include the Gehry buildings, the Hyatt, Bilk church and Friedensplätzchen farmer’s market.
